Sven Väth - Unofficial Discography

Sven Väth is a well-known techno/ambient DJ from Frankfurt,
Germany. This is a detailed discography of all releases by Sven
Väth and related projects (Off, Essence of Nature, Barbarella,
Metal Master, Astral Pilot) known by me.
It is not official and not complete, but I'm looking for all
information that you have and can't find here.
Contents
Sven Väth is a well-known techno/ambient DJ from Frankfurt,
Germany. He was born on the 26th of October 1964 in Offenbach near
Frankfurt/Main, Germany. After school he made an apprenticeship
as a building fitter. At the age of 18 he got a chance to DJ in the
"Dorian Gray", a big and well-known club in
Frankfurt.
Then later in the 80s Sven has become the frontman of a group
called "Off". He formed it with Michael
Münzig and Luca Anzilotti, who later
became Snap. Matthias Hoffmann (aka
AC Boutsen) joined Off later.
Their biggest hit was 1987
"Electrica Salsa (Baba Baba)". I don't like the Off stuff, be warned,
Sven's 'singing' is terrible - in my opinion, of course :-)
In 1988 he has opened with two partners a club called
"Omen". It's one of Frankfurt's biggest and most
famous clubs, which will probably (or not!?) be closed soon. See Unofficial Omen

In 1991 Sven has founded the label "EYE-Q"
together with Heinz Roth and Matthias
Hoffmann. It is divided into the two sublabels
"HARTHOUSE" (for a techno/house style) and
"RECYCLE OR DIE" (featuring electronic
instrumental/experimental/ambient music) and the the "EYE-Q
Main Label" (for everything that doesn't fit in the other
catagories).
Since 1992 Sven Väth has been collaborating with Ralf
Hildenbeutel. They've had the projects "Essence of
Nature" and "Barbarella", and they've also
done Sven's 'solo' releases together.
Ralf Hildenbeutel has also
released some work without Sven, as "Ralf
Hildenbeutel", "Earth Nation",
"Curare", "Progressive Attack",
"Cygnus X" and "Odysee of Noises".

"Metal Master" is a collaboration of Sven Väth and
A.C. Boutsen (aka Matthias Hoffmann).
"Astral Pilot" is a collaboration of Sven
Väth and Stevie B-Zet (aka Steffen Britzke).
Together they've also made the soundtrack for a film called
"Der Kalte Finger".
Sometimes Sven is playing at the HR3 Clubnight
(noframe
version) (HR3 is a German radio station, the pages are in German).

Offenbach and USA offices has been closed!
A new office with new personel has been raised in Berlin (Rosenthaler
Str 46, 10178 Berlin. Phone: +49 +30 28 49 98 - 0 / Fax -11)...
But the last thing I've heard is that Berlin office has already been
closed, and the only remaining office is probably London!
I don't know if Sven is still into EYE-Q anymore...
And I don't know if the sublabels HARTHOUSE and RECYCLE OR DIE still
exist. Probably they have been dropped...
Once there was an official EYE-Q
site, but this server is now defunct for a while. Maybe they're
planning to go online again one day, maybe not, I don't know...

Currently I can't say which is true and which is not!
According to the "X-MIX-5 DJ-Trump-Card-Set" Sven
Väth has made 28 12"-releases until end of 1995. If this is true
there are many missing here... :-(
