Appaloosa - Travelling
Appaloosa are based in Bournemouth and consist of Ben McColl and Matthew Brooks. The
version of the Travelling that appears in the boxset is the classic original 1994 mix.
The tune is heavily influenced by the Early House sound of Strictly Rhythm’s Chez
Damier and Ron Trent, combining this sound with Drum and Bass. This is a good example
of Appaloosa's intentions to create something new and exciting by combining genres.
Subject 13 - Faith
Subject 13 bring you another slice of sheer blissful jazz, throwing together the
deepest musical elements from the days of the greats like Thelonius Monk, Art Tatum,
and others. Subject 13 pay tribute by displaying their own piece of Astro Funk:
Shaft-style basslines submerged deep inside chopped up loops that glide alongside
lush strings. Don't forget the keyboard solos, which are played with precision and
style that portray Subject 13 at their very best.
Subject 13 have consistently released music that remains true to their attitude,
style and sound.
PHD and The Funky Technician - Above and beyond
DJ Producer PHD makes his debut on Good Looking by linking up with Funky Technicians
to bring you a classic style Amen track. With a wash of sweeps and strings, it
immediately creates the feeling of being above and beyond. A deep bassline, reinforced
by a space age melody, guaranteed to elevate your mindstate.
Poets Of Thought - Samba with J.E.
A Jimmy Smith influenced Latin track with phat horns, which actually sounds like a
track of its time.
Blame - Revival
Blame has always been a forerunner since the early days, forging a sound not unlike
jazz in its freeform, freestyle context. Revival explores these retro tunes and sounds
but fusses them into an exciting Drum and Bass experience that sparkles with exciting
ideas.
Pablo - Do what you gotta do
Do What You Gotta Do is the debut track from the 20 years old producer. This 90's
version of a rich, layered production influenced by 70's Soul producers such as Gamble
and Huff, Norman Whitfiled and Lacy Mizell.

Doc Scot - Tokyo dawn
"I feel that this tune has a vibe hat represents what I as a DJ want to hear in my
set and on Nexus. My reasoning for starting Nexus was basically to fulfill a desire
that I have had for a long time, to be able to release music that I love from my own
label. It also acts as sister label to Good Looking, so we can release more of the
