Driving around ...
Well, one way to look at it is:
Although that really was not the plan. I drove the first time because I figured I would have to have a car once I arrive in California, and a friend in New Jersey happened to be selling his Hyundai Sonata. There was also the issue of boxes, which I somehow had to ship from Philadelphia to Riverside. And then there was the Grand Canyon, which I wanted to see at some point. So, I bought a car and drove. Second time around I wanted to see the Devil's Tower (never quite grew over Close Encounters of the Third Kind; yes, I consider myself lucky that Steven Spielberg didn't land the aliens in Missoula, Montana). And, a car in Indianapolis was a handy thing to have. As it was in Princeton. You get the idea. |
