"Generator" is weekly radio show on Yu Radio (fm 100.4 MHz stereo) hosted by Integra DJs Mark Wee & Eye. Also, DJ Sugar Daddy O. is a kind of regular guest on this radio show. "Generator" is based on new house and techno sound, presenting the latest 12" releases, guests, interviews and party previews. The story of today's Generator starts back in 1993, with Yu Radio's garage-based "Remix" broadcast, hosted by DJ Coba, who invited DJ Eye for house and DJ Mark Wee for techno inputs. Basically, that was the first time to play house and techno sound in Yugoslav airwaves. Later on, Integra's DJ Mark Wee get his own techno show called "Overdose" (broadcast on Tuesdays), little bit later DJ S.T.R.O.B. starts his own "Pulsar" and DJ Innvision did the same with his "Liquid" ambient & trance broadcasts. When "Pulsar" was banned, DJ S.T.R.O.B. joined DJ Mark Wee on new Saturdays radio show which they called "Generator". DJ Eye joined them soon in this three-hours long house & techno radio broadcast (Saturdays 21.00-00.00 h). There were lots of guests interviewed by "Generator" crew: Russ Cox, Paul Tibbs, Lady B, Laurent Garnier, The Prodigy, Eddy Airbow, Ricardo Rocchi, Pascal Bongo Massive, Barney York, MCM Crew, Mrs.Wood, etc. as well as lots of Yugoslav DJs and techno artists. Also, some of today's Yugoslav techno artists get some of their first public broadcasts thanks to "Generator" (Noise Destruction, KKPTSAI, Dominator, Vaki, BP, Wolfgang S. etc.). When Yu Radio's executives decided to change the radio program conception in early summer of 1997, they dismissed DJ Innvision with his "Liquid" show as well as Mark Wee & Eye's "Generator". So, they banned the first house/techno radio show in Yugoslavia, just like that... After lots of calls, e-mails and public demands, Mark Wee & Eye got their legendary "Generator" back on October 22nd 1997, this time on Wednesdays (21.00-23.00 h). Generator is regenerated.
